(1). When you provide your Personal Details On Line it is sensible to take care about what you disclose.
Most people are respectable but we all know there are Crooks and Strange People out there. The following is a guide, but you may wish to get help or advice from a Professional or Help Agency before proceeding.

(2). Email is a good initial way to introduce yourself but it is not 100% risk free.
On our registration boards you can leave your email address. Please be aware that the general public can see this so don't include your phone number or address if you want total privacy maintained, and/or you are under eighteen.
(3). Don’t give your postal address or bank account details via email or at a first meeting, or at all unless you are sure the receiver is genuine if in doubt don't give it. (It is at your own risk if you do).
(4). Be careful not to use someone's email address without their permission, or leave you or them open to "spam". Do not put personal details into your email.
(5).Take care not to make any dubious or false claims about yourself or your abilities. (You could leave yourself liable to prosecution if you do)
(6). Beware of Agents, organizations or individuals claiming to be your ticket to "stardom" or "fortune" or some other "miracle" outcome. There are no such things! It takes very hard work total dedication and a large dose of luck to be successful. In the early days payment can be very little or even non-existent until you become a salable product worth backing and promoting.
(7). If someone claiming to be a "Promoter", "Manager" or "Agent" approaches you in person or electronically:
Do not arrange lone meetings at strange sounding, distant locations, or places you are unfamiliar with. Your first meeting would be better in a public place (e.g. a library or a fast food Restaurant etc.). We reckon that you should take someone with you for at least the first meeting and probably the first three to be sure.
(8). Where contracts, commitments and / or financial issues are being discussed you really must have a professionally qualified legal person with you. Certainly you should not sign anything without checking the legal implications and financial restrictions any contract may be openly or surreptitiously imposing on you. You really do need a contract expert to help with this. Golden rule = If in doubt get independent advice you can trust before signing anything.
(9). If you are under eighteen you must make your approach through a trusted competent close family adult chaperone.
(10). If you are using someone else's telephone number, ask permission first.
