Ursa Minor has been seen as a companion bear to Usra Major for Centuries. Its main claim to fame is that at the moment it contains the pole star Polaris. At the moment precession is moving the Pole star closer to the true polar position and by about 2100, the pole star will be at its closest to this point.

There is nothing much of interest in this constellation for amateurs.
