Pisces Austrinus has been a constellation in the sky for hundreds of years, even going back in time to before 0 B.C.

It is a sparse constellation with little of interest. You will be able to find a few binary systems but that is about all.

Alpha Piscis Austrini is called Fomalhaut. It is approximately 22 light years away and is th 18th brightest star in the sky at 1.16 magnitude.
