Lyra lies just alongside the Milky Way next to Cygnus. It is said to be the Lyre invented by Hermes, that was given to Orpheus by Apollo.
The main star alpha Lyrae is called Vega. It is the 5th brightest star in the sky at a distance of26 light years.
There is a good planetary nebula to view in anything from a 3 inch upwards. It is called the Ring Nebula M57, it has a very clear ring structure to it that can be seen at high magnification.
There is also one small globular cluster M56 just to the border with Cygnus.
