This crown has many different origons, the most famous of which regards Ariadne, daughter of the King of Crete. Due to Ariadne not wishing to marry a mere mortal, Dionysus threw his crown into the sky to prove he was a God. Ariadne then willingly wed Dionysus.
Apart from the easy to see constellation there is not much of note in this section of sky. There are no Nebula or galaxies and only a few variable stars.
