Corona Australis The Southern Crown
Constellation Index

A rather small constellation originally named by Ptolomy in the 2nd Century.

By far the best object to view is NGC 6726/7, a blue diffuse nebula that lies over several stars, similarin style to the Pleides Nebulosity, viewable with long exposure photography.

The other object of interest is NGC 6541 a globular cluster that requires at least an 8 inch to resolve any stars.
