Cassiopeia was the mother of Andromeda and Queen of Ancient Ethiopia.
Cassiopeia is one of my personal favorites when it comes to constellations. It is one of the easist constellations to find and is a good guide for finding Cepheus and Andromeda.
The W shape is directly above Andromeda and the alpha and beta stars point at Cepheus.
As it is only about 35 degrees from Polaris the Pole Star, Cassiopeia is visible all year from the UK.
There are several open clusters to be found in Cassiopeia, the best of which is M52, with approximately 100 stars. A modest telescope should be able to give a brilliant view.
